一、中国科学院自然科学史研究所简介 Y2J F\ax

中国科学院自然科学史研究所是中国唯一的国家级多学科和综合性的科学技术史研究机构，也是国际上科学史研究的重镇。研究所始建于1957年，迄今已有50的历史。研究所位于北京朝阳门内大街137号（孚王府院内）。研究所主要从事科学技术史研究、科学技术哲学、科学技术与社会、经济、思想、文化之关系研究以及科技战略研究。研究所现有在编人员75人，其中中国科学院院士1人，国际科学史研究院院士、通讯院士共3人，高级研究人员40多人。现任所长为廖育群研究员。 2oa< ;a$h

建所五十年来，自然科学史研究所共编辑、撰写和出版学术专著及相关文集300余部，发表学术论文7000余篇，曾获得近20余项国家和中国科学院自然科学奖，多项部委科技成果奖以及中国图书奖。研究所在中国数学史、天文学史方面的研究有数十年的历史，在国际科技史界享有巨大声誉。近年来，研究所积极组织力量和资源，推动在西方科学技术史、中外科学技术交流与比较以及科技政策方面的研究。 JmT,hT^D

进入中国科学院知识创新工程三期，研究所的学术布局分为四大研究板块：中国传统科技史（主要研究中国古代科学、技术和医学史）、中国现当代科学技术史及发展战略研究、科学文化研究（主要研究西方科学史并以此为支撑展开多种扩展研究）、中外科技交流与比较研究（通过国际合作，开展中外科技比较研究和中外科技交流史研究）。 xm%}P|; |9

自然科学史研究所在科学技术史（理科一级学科）、科学技术哲学（哲学二级学科）两个学科上均设有博士学位及硕士学位授予点。其中，科学技术史硕士学位及博士学位授予点均是我国最早的学位授予点，硕士点在文革前即开始招生，博士点于1978年开始招生。科学技术哲学博士学位授予点于2005年开始招生。迄今为止，自然科学史研究所在以上两个专业上共培养了博士研究生50余名、硕士研究生百余名。研究所尝试与国外有关机构联合培养博士研究生，已有多名在读研究生获得出国学习（1年）的机会。（http://www.ihns.ac.cn/education/education.htm）。 u Ja"V dB=

科学技术史博士点现设有科学史、技术史、医学与生命科学史、科学技术与社会四个二级学科，诸二级学科下还设有中国科技通史、科学学科史、技术史、中外科技交流、中国近现代科技史、科学史理论、西方科学史、科技战略等研究方向。今年研究所拟以二级科学为基础设置考试科目，招收博士研究生。 9'IKYwQ*

Institute for the History of Natural Science (IHNS) = 0(o=>/

Structure: Founded in 1957, the IHNS is the sole comprehensive and multi-disciplinary organization devoted to research on history of science in China, as well as one of the few research centers for the history of Chinese science and technology in the world. The IHNS is a national institution of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has 78 members, of whom about 40 are senior research fellows. :vn_g^b
Journals: IHNS maintains an editorial office and produces two specialized journals: Studies in the History of Natural Sciences and China Historical Materials of Science and Technology, both of which are published quarterly. The Studies in the History of Natural Sciences also accepts contributions — including articles, news of the profession, discussions, and book reviews, in English. &5|V>hk

Library: The Institute has a valuable and highly specialized library which is well-known in China. The library now has in its collection more than 140,000 volumes, of which nearly 3,000 are thread-bound ancient Chinese books. In particular, the unique collection of hundreds of volumes of ancient Chinese mathematical works given to the Institute by the late Professor Li Yan is unparalleled in the world. w]

Students: Since 1978, the IHNS has trained more than 150 graduate students for both the Masters and Ph.D. degrees. In addition to the history of various subjects（mathematics, astronomy, physics, chemistry, bio-sciences, geo-sciences, etc., as well as relevant techniques), the IHNS also offers training in the development of scientific strategy and the philosophy of science and technology. Candidates for both the Masters and Ph.D. degrees generally follow a three-year course of study, including a final defense of their written thesis. p)1`n/nxd
Publications: In the 50 years since its founding, members of IHNS have published more than 400 research works and have written more than 3800 papers on the history of science. Among them, the General Collection of Works of Ancient Chinese Science and Technology (Zhengzhou: Henan Education Press, 1993-1998, in 40 volumes), provides a unique reference source for researchers engaged in the history of traditional science and technology in China. Another of the Institute's projects, a History of Chinese Science and Technology, is underway and expected to consist of 3 parts, totaling 30 volumes. 'g=6
