modern industry has changed our way of life . in the past, we traveled from one place to another either on foot or on a horse back , but now we do it by bus , train or plane .our modern men communicate with one another over long distances by telegram, telephone, telex or fax , but in the past, men did it by sending a letter only , at home , we now have all the electric appliances such as the washing machine , refrigerator, tv and others. but in the past , we did our housework all by hand and we had no household entertainments. gxEI0`i>
modern industry also has seriously polluted our environment. cars add much waste to the air that is already polluted by power and chemical fertilizer plants .the poisonous water from the paper mills and fertilizer factories find its way into our rivers and pollute our water, nowadays pollution is so serious that our air is unfit to breathe and our water is unfit to drink. HUM5@s_+e
these problems, however, can be solved through further industrial development. for example, we can use electricity and solar energy instead of burning coal. besides, we can take measures to have the industrial waste purified before it goes into air or water. we believe the more advanced industry will certainly be more capable of taking care of its waste. |
